With this accurate and powerful weapon system, the Boxer mutates into an assertive weapon system. Both have the same 30-millimeter machine cannon from Rheinmetall. A Lance 2-man turret is deployed on the CRV Boxer and a crewless remote-controlled turret on the Puma. The rotating turret is similar in shape to that of the Puma infantry fighting vehicle, which is used by the German Panzergrenadiers, the heavy forces of the army. The difference to the German version, which has been used by the Bundeswehr so far, is its 30mm automatic cannon, an anti-tank missile system and a 7.62mm machine gun as secondary armament, integrated into a manned turret on the vehicle. The three letters stand for Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle. ![]() The Australian Army already has it: the Boxer CRV wheeled armored vehicle. It has the same reliable and extremely strong basis as the German version: the Australian Army's Boxer CRV, but a closer look reveals that this vehicle is more than just an armored personnel carrier.
